Many families choose to hike the 2.4 miles to Hidden Falls, add on the extra leg to Inspiration Point, and then return via the boat shuttle. My wife and I did the Jenny Lake loop plus the side excursion up to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. The last mile or so can probably be skipped, if you are short on energy. Details: The Jenny Lake Loop is a lovely trail, but it is most commonly used as an alternative to taking the boat shuttle over to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. There are several great openings and views on your left as you hike to the end of Cascade Canyon. If you are hiking to Inspiration point, I would suggest going at least another mile along Cascade Canyon (about 25-30 minutes), to get closeup views of the Teton.
